FICTIONAL RULES · SVD-DEMO-2026-1 Understand the demonstration tax rules A tax year runs from 1 January to 31 December. Only completed years are available. SVD is a fictional currency.
Individual annual return Combine wages, self-employment and other income. Deduct a basic allowance of 60,000 SVD, actual education spending up to 12,000, actual healthcare spending up to 18,000 and 6,000 per dependent, up to four dependents. The taxable amount cannot fall below zero.
Individual taxable income bands Annual taxable amount (SVD) Rate on this portion 0–36,000 3% Above 36,000 to 144,000 10% Above 144,000 to 300,000 20% Above 300,000 30%
Each rate applies only to the amount within its band, rounded to the nearest cent. The highest rate is not applied to the entire income.
Business annual return Subtract deductible business expenses from annual revenue. Positive profit is taxed at 18%; a loss produces a taxable amount of zero. This demonstration does not carry losses forward.
Prepayments and zero-income returns Subtract prepaid tax from assessed tax. A positive balance is payable, a negative balance is an expected refund and zero means neither. A return with no income is marked as zero-income. Income must still be declared when deductions reduce the tax to zero.
Payable and refund amounts are demonstration figures. This site has no real payment or refund function. Filing approval only confirms completion of the review.
