Parliament passed the Digital Economy Promotion Act amendments by 89 votes to 14. They take effect next 1 January.
The amendments define rights to information, access, portability and deletion, with transparency, interoperability and algorithmic accountability for systemic platforms.
The government will publish implementation rules and transitional arrangements and create a digital innovation fund for small technology firms.
