The Federal Statistics Office released the 2026 census. The resident population is 12,804,731, about 1.3% above the previous census.
The census covered five federal divisions with fully electronic collection. About 78% of households filed online or by mobile; enumerators assisted the rest.
The results will guide parliamentary seats, fiscal transfers and public services, including pension, childcare and workforce policies.
